How to book assistance
Book assistance online at the same time as you make your travel arrangements with the airline or travel agency, at least 48 hours before departure. Some airlines also offer booking of assistance by phone. You can be met by the train, bus, taxi or when you arrive by car.
If you have forgotten to book assistance before you arrive at the airport, you may still ask for assistance upon arrival. However, you will need to allot more time. We cannot guarantee immediate assistance, unless you have booked beforehand.
State your needs
Different airlines may ask different questions. It is therefore important that you state your needs when you book your travel:
- If you need assistance with getting to and from the aircraft, and if you need special assistance in boarding the aircraft and getting to your seat.
- If you are able to get through the airport and to your seat in the aircraft by yourself, but need assistance with checking in and claiming your luggage.
- If you use portable oxygen equipment.
- If you use a wheelchair and if you have manual or electrical wheelchair
- If you have impaired vision or hearing, and need direct information, or use a guide dog
- If you have need for our "Meet and Assist" service, to be escorted to the right place at the right time at the airport
Arrange a meeting point in advance
Contact the Assistance service in advance to arrange a meeting point. You find contact information on the website to your airport.
The meeting points alternatives are:
- after you have checked in
- at gate (on departure)
- at the aircraft door or inside the aircraft (on arrival)
- by train, bus, taxi or on arrival by car
Security check
All travellers must go through a metal detector. If you use a wheelchair or have implants, this check will be performed manually.
Do you have a pacemaker or hearing aid? You can still safely pass through the metal detector.
Will you need medical assistance during your travel?
The Assistance Service at the airport cannot take on responsibility for providing you with medical assistance or care. Nor can they administer special medicines that you are unable to take yourself. If you are in need of this type of medical assistance, your travel is defined as medical transport, and cannot be undertaken with regular flights.
